Flight of a Green Heron
Featuring:
Heron - Guitar
Alder - Flute
Devin River - Violin
This 30-minute raw, live capture peacefully unveils Heron’s spiraling electric guitar arpeggios, with movements of meditative drone work. A deep and soil-rich soundscape that offers the listener an experience into Heron’s personal and profound earth descent. Alder’s deeply resonant flute wisps hold council with those whom we only feel. A haunting yet calm and affirming spake to the spirits through an implementation of sacred breath work. The antiquity of Devin’s violin sings to spirits, while braiding the strength of the whole in a most beautiful and tender way. Flight of a Green Heron’s tranquil and introspective spiritual sound craft weaves a serene, chamber-like devotional world music.
At times, I’m reminded of the cinematic work of Bruce Langhorne, early Amber Asylum, Yatha Sidhra’s ‘A Meditation Mass’, or perhaps Between’s ‘And the Waters Opened’. Flight of a Green Heron’s unhurried pace and contemplative nature ease the mind while inducing a heightened feeling of well-being. Prayers performed through stillness after fire and the spaces within the roots.
A debut full-length studio album is in development...
